OUR SCHOOL

Clare Sullivan, T.C.R.G. and champion dancer, has been teaching the art of traditional Irish dance for over 30 years. The school has been licensed by the Commission of Irish Dance in Ireland since 1986.

Our mission:

Our mission is to combine the intricate footwork of Irish dance with child development and Irish culture. We believe that teaching the concepts of motivation, discipline, teamwork, and self-determination nurture a child’s ability to perform in all facets of life. Each Sullivan School dancer, whether beginner or champion, is a valued member of our dance family.

Enrollment:

New students are accepted in September and January. Tuition is payable by semester. To register for classes, email us or call Clare at 617-254-6870.

What to expect:

Students learn reels, jigs, slip jigs, and hornpipes in both individual and group dances, and prepare for competitions and public performance. Sullivan dancers have a lot of fun AND work hard. Perfection is not a requirement, but practicing helps children develop their skills and remember what they learn.

Attire requirements:

Dancers practice in shorts, t-shirts, and socks. Beginners may wear ballet or Irish dance shoes. As students advance, they are expected to practice in Irish dance shoes and – at times- dance sneakers. Students must bring a water bottle and 3-ring binder or notebook to class. Shoes can be purchased from Mary Devlin at Devlin Dance Shoes.

Studio location:
